Thanks. I didn't use 2k clear coat. It wouldn't be any different from what i used in application. It's just that you can't reuse the can after a long gap of few days.

@haider11able I re-read your comment. if you got matt finish after com merge means the spray atomized heavily. check after wet sanding if you get the gloss back. If not, scuff the surface well with 1500 grit wet sand paper and then use the 2K clear spray. wet sanding before polishing is required for the clear gloss finish.

Thanks a ton for reply..if not for your reply, i would have applied 2k coat straight away without wet sanding with 1500 grit.

@@haider11able Even in my case - you can see immediately after com merge - finish was matt. Final wet sanding is what brought out the shine. But Com-merge is a substandard product. It'll wear out under harsh conditions in few weeks. You are better off with a good 2K clear coat. Keep your 1500 grit sanding uniform - do not deep scratch the paint before clear coat as it'll be visible through clear coat after your final wet sanding/polishing. All the best!

I've not tested it - Tissot claims 46 hours. Since I wear other watches too , never get a chance to check the actual power reserve .

@@somspaple thanks and really appreciate the reply, I meant the replacement transistor numbers for 2SA634, 2SC1096, 2SA872, 2SC1775. I'm worried that mismatched transistor pairs could result in bad sound.

@@eeettt184 matched pairs of transistors are hard to get - best to buy the kit from Jim's audio on ebay in that case.

It is kinda difficult to get specific models from hmt. Sometimes it might come back in stock. If you are from Bangalore you can try your luck at HMT showrooms or check out those hmt FB groups for used ones.

YW! I wouldn't suggested sandwiching clear coat and base coat! I suspect the issue is with clear coat of Com paint. If you use 2K clear coat on top of Com paint base coat it should be fine. Just use 3 or more layers of base coat. In my case, yes clear coat has turned dull and I've not been able to spray the surface with 2k clear coat owing to paucity of time and lack of clear workspace.

@@somspaple Thanks for reply. I'm planning to buy 2k clear . Reviews tells that if used properly , it will give close to factory finish. Anyway not using com merge as almost all the users are having negative review over it. Planning to do after the rains get ceased . Now it's heavy rain lashing over kerala. 2k may need few days to dry. Which are the grades sand papers that I need to keep, just the ones with com paint kit plus what u were mentioning in the video ? And any suggestions based on ur experience?

@@jinurajkr I would suggest start with 2000 grit for final finish and can go upto 3000 grit if you can source. For surface prep before painting your requirements might vary from 400 to 1000 grit dependent on the surface. And yes it's best to wait for rains to subside - however 2k is supposed to dry quick. All the best!

@@joeysarmiento1925 If you want to experiment try the 'The Edge' app. It is free - www.tolvan.com/edge/help.htm . You can provide driver and baffle parameters and it will give you a calculated spot for mounting your drivers. All the best. And don't forget to post a video of how it sounds!
